MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — It’s not a flashy move but it’s still a necessary one.
The Milwaukee Brewers have signed Catcher Eric Haase to a one-year contract, solidifying their backstop after Victor Caratini left for a two-year deal in Houston.
Haase will be entering his seventh Major League season in 2024. He’s spent the previous six with the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers posting a .225 career batting average with 47 home runs and 137 RBI.
In addition to catching, Haase has served as an emergency outfielder and DH. Though he’s expected to serve as the backup catcher for the Brewers behind William Contreras.
The Dearborn, Michigan native was drafted by the then-Cleveland Indians in 2011.
