MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Chicago State Cougars proved no challenge for the Badger men as eight players recorded points in an 80-53 win.
AJ Storr led all scorers with 29 points and two rebounds on 11-18 shooting. Steven Crowl scored 13 points and had a team-high seven rebounds in just under 30 minutes of work.
Wisconsin shot an even 50% for the night (28-56).
Wesley Cardet led the Cougars with ten points.
Wisconsin never trailed in the contest.
Chicago State is competing as an Independent this year, planning to join the Northeast Conference for 2024-’25. The school has been somewhat of a Division I nomad in the last few years, moving from the short-lived Great West Conference to the WAC before leaving the latter when plans for a midwestern pod of schools broke down. The school did examine either eliminating athletics or moving down a division in 2016.
Wisconsin improves to 9-3 on the season and will jump back into Big Ten play on January 2nd against Iowa at the Kohl Center.
