WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Sylvan Tubing Hill will be closed for the foreseeable future.
Due to warm weather and rain over the Christmas holiday, crews have been unable to maintain snowpack on the one run that was scheduled to open on Tuesday. They now say that opening day has been postponed indefinitely.
“We need weather conditions to improve before we can reopen the hill,” read a statement on Facebook from the Wausau and Marathon County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, which operates the hill.
The hill does have some snow guns but they still need some help from Mother Nature in the form of cooler temperatures.
Sylvan Hill briefly opened last weekend but warmer temps zapped the snowpack.
