RIB LAKE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – In an April referendum, the Rib Lake School District will ask voters for roughly $20 million.
That resolution was approved by the Rib Lake School Board earlier this week.
The district’s school buildings range in age from 25 years old (elementary school) to approximately 60 years old (high school).
If authorized, the district plans to transform the old gym into a cafeteria as well as a performing arts center and band area.
It would also allow them to upgrade their outdated kitchen and give enough space for them to cook meals in one kitchen rather than two.
The referendum’s cost is still an estimate, but estimations say it will be around $160 per $100,000 of property value. The $19.5 million referendum will be put before voters on April 2, 2024.
