Wausau, WI (WSAU) — On December 31, at approximately 1:32 A.M, the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch Center received a call reporting a crash of a UTV. The UTV was reported to have two occupants, and the site of the crash was on Scott Road south of Heldt Street, located in the Township of Scott.
In a media release by the Lincoln County Sheriff, it was reported that the driver of the UTV was trapped and unresponsive. The driver, a 48-year-old male, was later pronounced deceased. The male passenger refused medical treatment and left the scene in a private automobile.
The investigation suggests that the UTV was southbound on Scott Road when it had lost control causing it to enter the ditch and roll. Road conditions are believed to have been a factor.
The crash remains under investigation, and the names of the men involved in the crash have not been released.
