GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – With the Packers’ season hanging in the balance on Sunday afternoon when they welcome division rivals the Chicago Bears to Lambeau Field, the team appears to be on track to be back to full strength.
Both Preston Smith (ankle) and Elgton Jenkins (ankle) were able to return to practice on Friday after missing the previous two days, according to the Packers Wire. Jenkins told reporters that he “feels good,” which suggests that he’ll likely be ready to go by Sunday despite being listed as questionable.
The Packers were without running back A.J. Dillon, safety Rudy Ford, and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie all week. After practice on Friday, both A.J. Dillon and Rudy Ford were downgraded to out for Sunday.
Rookie running back Emanuel Wilson was a full participant throughout the week and will be expected to spilt the backup role with veteran Patrick Taylor.
Christian Watson also sat out on Friday after practicing on Wednesday and Thursday, and head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed after practice that he was given a rest day after “two good days of practice.”
When LaFleur was asked about rookie tight end Luke Musgrave’s injury status, he told reporters that it’s “realistic” that he could play on Sunday. Musgrave told reporters on Thursday, “I want to play. I definitely want to play. But we’re going to take it day by day and see.”
Musgrave has not played since November 19th and said that he would not play until he’s fully cleared.
