CRANDON, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU) – Officials with the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed that a 2.5 magnitude earthquake rolled across the Northwoods Sunday morning.
Their report found that the epicenter of the quake was roughly four miles northeast of Mole Lake.
The Forest County Sheriff’s Department said they received multiple calls from startled residents just after 7:00 am.
There have not been any reports of damages or injuries.
According to the USGS, this is the first earthquake reported in Wisconsin in over five years.
