WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) – The House Oversight Committee proposed a resolution on Monday suggesting that Hunter Biden be found in contempt of Congress for his defiance of their earlier-issued subpoena.
According to the Post Millennial, the committee outlined their case against the president’s son in the resolution, labeling his December 13 “flagrant defiance” of their subpoena as “contemptuous” and “unlawful.” Biden was summoned in relation to his father, President Joe Biden’s impeachment investigation.
“The Committees have accumulated significant evidence suggesting that President Biden knew of, participated in, and profited from foreign business interests engaged in by his son, about which the Committees intended to question Mr. Biden during his deposition,” the committee wrote in a statement.
The statement continued saying, “However, Mr. Biden brazenly defied the Committees’ subpoenas, choosing to read a prepared statement outside of the Capitol instead of appearing for a deposition as required by the subpoenas. Mr. Biden’s willful refusal to comply with the Committees’ subpoenas constitutes contempt of Congress and warrants referral to the appropriate United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution as prescribed by law.”
In 2022, Fox News revealed that Joe Biden, as vice president in the Obama administration, had meetings with at least fourteen business associates of his son, who gained notoriety for using his father’s political positions and the Biden family name to further his business interests, as well as his uncle Jim Biden.
