MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers will be adding the former second-ranked linebacker in 2023 to the country and the top linebacker in the transfer portal Tackett Curtis.
According to 247 Sports, Curtis played in 12 games for USC in 2023 as a true freshman recording 40 tackles, 4 for loss, 2 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble.

“Wisconsin was the perfect fit for me and my future,” Curtis told On3. “I love the way that they use their LBs and I could see myself being a dominant player in their defense.”
“I want to play in a Defense where I can hunt and find the ball! I feel like Wisconsin is the best place to go do that. I feel like Wisconsin will get the best out of me and I will become the best player I can be there,” Curtis continued.
In 2024, Curtis will be UW’s twelfth transfer addition. The following players are part of UW’s transfer class so far: cornerback Ronald Delancy III (Toledo), quarterback Tyler Van Dyke (Miami), wide receiver Tyrell Henry (Michigan State), linebackers Jaheim Thomas (Arkansas), Jahsiah Galvan (Northern Iowa), Sebastian Cheeks (North Carolina), John Pius (William & Mary), Leon Lowery (Syracuse), running back Tawee Walker (Oklahoma), long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer (Cincinnati), tight end Jackson McGohan (LSU). In terms of transfer class rankings, 247sports currently has this class ranked in the top 20 nationwide.
