MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Former Vanderbilt offensive line coach AJ Blazek has been officially hired to the same position for the Wisconsin Badgers, replacing former coach Jack Bicknell.
According to Badgers 247, Blazek was with Vanderbilt for the last three seasons, and last season, Vandy’s averages fell short of the top 120 nationally, averaging 3.0 yards per run and 85.8 rushing yards per game.
The Commodores line performed better in previous seasons, allowing 1.25 sacks per game in 2022 and only 1.08 sacks per game in 2021, which respectively made the unit one of the best in the SEC and the top 30 in the country.
Blazek coached at North Dakota State for two seasons before joining Vanderbilt. He helped the Bison set a school record with 4,601 rushing yards as a team in 2019.
