STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Organizers of Riverfront Rendezvous in Stevens Point have announced their headlining acts for this year’s three-day event, including a 1990’s alternative favorite.
The Spin Doctors will close out the first day of the event on Thursday, July 4th. The New York-based group rose to fame in 1991 on the success of their album Pocket Full of Kryptonite. The album went platinum, peaking at #3 on the US charts and providing two top-ten hits on the mainstream rock charts in “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes.”
The group also provided music for the soundtracks to the movies Space Jam, Philadelphia, and Grandma’s Boy.
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades will headline on Friday, July 5th. Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band will close out the event on Saturday, July 6th followed by the big fireworks display.
Additional musical acts and entertainment will be announced in the coming months.
Admission for Riverfront Rendezvous is free with no tickets or reservations required. This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the annual Stevens Point community event.
