MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Badgers scored a 5-0 non-conference victory over Lindenwood (MO) on Friday to open their final non-conference series of the season.
Quinn Finley led the offense with three goals including the opener midway through the first period. Mathieu De St. Phalle recorded two assists.
Cruz Lucius and Carson Bantle each added goals as well.
Kyle McClellan made 19 saves in net to get the win.
The Lions spent nearly half of the game short-handed, recording 30 minutes worth of penalties. Wisconsin had 27 PIM
Lindenwood University is based in suburban St. Louis and recently transitioned from NCAA Division II to Division I, part of which included the addition of varsity men’s and women’s hockey teams. Most sports compete in the Ohio Valley Conference, but the men’s hockey program has yet to find a conference home.
The Badgers and Lions will play again this evening. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, face-off at 7:00 on WSAU. The Badger women are also in action later today against St Thomas.
