GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – According to Fox Sports, 40 million people watched the Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers wild-card game on Sunday.
The network states that the game had the best performance for an NFL wild-card game since 2015, with a peak of 43.4 million people watching the matchup between 6:45 and 7 p.m. ET.
Fox added that the game on Sunday had a 20 percent higher delivery than the New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings game from last postseason.
The upcoming Divisional matchup against the 49ers is expected to see a similar audience as the Packers hope to slow down the 49ers’ fast-paced offense, which head coach Matt LaFleur said will be tough, saying, “We know it’s a great challenge, but it’s a great opportunity as well. That’s exactly how we’ll approach it. At the end of this thing, there is only one happy team, so you’ve got to approach it the same way each and every day. We’re going out there to win a football game, and we know we’re going to have to play our best ball.”
The Packers and 49ers will play on Saturday, January 20, at 7:15 p.m. CT. The game will air on FOX and pregame will air on WSAU at 5 p.m.
