WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Tri-state Chick-fil-A food truck stopped in Wausau on Wednesday and hundreds turned out in the cold weather to enjoy a sandwich and fries.
But how far are we from having a Chick-fil-A restaurant on Rib Mountain? At the end of December, a rezoning request was unanimously accepted to allow two fast-food outlets, including Chick-fil-A.
According to Jared Grande, Community Development Director, the new enterprise will benefit the local community, saying, “You know it’s going to draw a lot of interest, you know it just continues to add (to) what we have in Rib Mountain on Rib Mountain Drive, just making it that kind of destination spot for whether it is shopping, or retail, or food.”
In the next phase, they will construct a detailed implementation strategy outlining how the development will proceed and construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 and end in early 2025.
