RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) — Residents in Rib Mountain will get a chance to be part of the Village’s rebranding process this week.
Leaders have spent the last few months working with a local Gary Barden Design LLC to create a new logo that will be incorporated into new welcome signs, letterhead, and village appeal. Administrator Gaylene Rhoden says they felt it was the perfect time to make a change. “Now’s the time. [We need] new signage and it’s our identity, of course. We also [want] to give our residents an opportunity for some input,” said Rhoden.
Rhoden says two possible designs are left from a field of five. They will be on display at the Municipal Center later this week, where residents can “vote” for their favorite using a post-it note. They’ll also post the designs on Facebook.
While the poll is extremely informal, no voter registration will be checked and participants don’t need to prove that they are Rib Mountain residents, she says the feedback will be considered when the board meets to make a final decision.
Rhoden adds that since last summer’s incorporation vote, she has received plenty of positive feedback from residents who are glad they won’t lose their community identity. While she’s glad to take that feedback, she knows that credit belongs to staffers who spent hours on the incorporation submittal and the residents who initiated the process with a formal petition.
“The efforts of our residents and our citizens, [they] put in the effort and got the signatures to get us to that starting point,” said Rhoden.
Other topics Rhoden discussed with WSAU’s Mike Leischner include:
