SUPERIOR, WI (WSAU) – As President Biden and Vice President Harris continue their push to receive the Democratic nomination for the 2024 general election, both candidates are spending time in the Badger State this week.
The president will reportedly be discussing ‘Bidenomics’ and the ‘Investing in America’ agenda during his visit to Superior as he hopes to change voters’ minds that he is the candidate to fix the struggling U.S. economy after the latest CBS News poll found that only 21% of voters believe they will be financially better off if Biden were to win reelection.
Biden’s visit will also come as the latest Marquette Law poll from November found that both former President Trump and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley would defeat Biden in Wisconsin, with Trump leading Biden by four points and Haley leading Biden by 10 points.
Vice President Harris made a stop in Wisconsin today to discuss the issue of abortion following a recently filed Republican bill that would legalize abortion in the state up to 14 weeks. The White House spoke about her visit saying, “The Vice President will highlight the harm caused by extreme abortion bans and share stories of those who have been impacted in Wisconsin and across the country. She will also hold extremists accountable for proposing a national abortion ban, call on Congress to restore the protections of Roe, and outline steps the Administration is taking to protect access to health care.”
VP Harris did not provide a week or time limit for abortion that she or President Biden would support. Marquette Law’s November poll cited that 57% of respondents opposed the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade; however, the poll did not ask the voters about what time limit they would deem appropriate for an abortion procedure to occur.
