MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Only a week after losing former safeties coach and top recruiter Colin Hitschler to Alabama, the Badgers announced they’ve hired a big name to replace him.
According to BadgerExtra’s Colten Bartholomew, former Oklahoma and USC defensive coordinator/ safety coach, Alex Grinch will be replacing Hitschler after four years of working under head coach Lincoln Riley.
Grinch is a four-time nominee for the Broyles Award, which is given to the nation’s top assistant coach and will take over the team’s defensive back recruiting push, which so far has included 2025 three-star athlete Cody Haddad and 2025 four-star athlete Jaimier Scott.
