CUMBERLAND, WI (WSAU) – Someone in the small town of Cumberland is set to become $1 million richer after the Wisconsin Lottery identified a winning ticket sold at the town’s Cenex gas station.
According to a press release, the winning ticket was sold at the Cenex located at 2104 Carlone St. for the Wednesday, January 24 drawing. The winning ticket matched five of five numbers (1-5-32-50-64) but missed the Powerball (8). It is the first million-dollar Powerball win of 2024 for Wisconsin.
“Our store has only been open three years,” said Vernita Craine, the store’s manager. “This is our biggest win ever. It’s very exciting.”
“We can’t wait to find out who it is. Hopefully someone local,” added Craine.
After the draw date, players have 180 days to claim their wins. Wilottery.com/winners/claim-prize can provide players details on how to claim a prize. Additionally, players can use the Wisconsin Lottery smartphone app to check their tickets.
