DENVER, COL (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks began a five game road trip against the defending NBA champs and dropped a 113-107 game Monday night in Denver.
It was the first game for new Bucks head coach Doc Rivers.
The game was a back and forth affair and both teams played good defense with Denver making more plays down the stretch for the victory.
Milwaukee had 13 turnovers in the game with only two coming in the first half. They resulted in 15 points for the Nuggets. Denver also outscored Milwaukee in the paint 56-26.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Brook Lopez had 19, Damian Lillard 18 and Krhis Middleton 14. Bobby Portis had nine points and 12 rebounds off the bench.
The Bucks, now 32-15, will play in Portland on Wednesday night.
