WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A former Wausau resident who now lives in Minneapolis has been accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 10.
Court records show Chue Yang faces one felony count for repeated sexual assault of the same child. Yang was charged with the crime last summer but didn’t appear in court until January 31st after he was arrested in Hennepin County.
Charges in the case date back to 2008 when Yang was in a relationship with a relative of the victim. Investigators say he forced the child to have sex with him on multiple occasions.
Yang is free on a $50,000 bond, which was posted on his behalf on Friday. He has surrendered his passport and is ordered to have no contact with the victim or their family. Terms of his bond also include no unsupervised contact with any minor female and pretrial monitoring.
The 47-year-old has requested a public defender. The case is scheduled for a pretrial conference on February 21st.
