MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks have made a trade during the league’s trade deadline process in hopes of improving their perimeter defense.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are trading veteran guard Cam Payne and a 2027 second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers in return for veteran guard Patrick Beverley.
Beverley is known for being one of the league’s toughest defenders and is averaging 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game this season for the 76ers. Beverley is a career 37.1 shooter from 3-point range and shot 5-8 from the field last night when the Sixers fell to the Golden State Warriors 127-104.
Wojnarowski also reported that the Bucks agreed to trade veteran big man Robin Lopez and cash to the Sacramento Kings. Lopez is expected to be waived by the Kings and become a free agent.
