MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers were dealt a blow on Thursday night when they learned that they missed out on landing Wisconsin’s top 2025 recruit.
Waukesha native Owen Strebig, a four-star offensive tackle who attends Catholic Memorial High School announced on X that he will be attending the University of Notre Dame next season despite a strong push by the Badgers to land him.

Former Badgers offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, who now has the same role at Notre Dame, was noted as one of the main reasons that Strebig chose the Fighting Irish due to a close relationship the two developed when Rudolph began recruiting him as a freshman.
Both of Wisconsin’s top two 2025 recruits have now committed to Notre Dame after four-star tight end James Flanigan from Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay chose the Fighting Irish back in October.
