MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley led the Bucks to a 120-84 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
Dame scored 26 points and Beasley dropped 21. Bobby Portis added 18 points off the bench. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. He also dished three assists.
Brook Lopez scored 11 points and grabbed seven boards.
As a team, the Bucks shot 44% from the field including 34.6% from three-point range. They held Charlotte to under 35% shooting on the night. Nick Richards and Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 16 points apiece.
It was also the team’s first look at new Guard Pat Beverly, who was acquired from Philadelphia at the trade deadline. He played 12 minutes and scored six points. Many observers noted that his biggest impact came off the floor, where he was seen giving instructions, drawing up plays during timeouts, and even calling out offensive sets while he was on the floor.
Beverly played for Bucks Head Coach Doc Rivers during his time with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Milwaukee returns to action on Monday against the Denver Nuggets at Fiserv Forum. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 6:30 PM, with tip-off at 7:00.
