MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – A former Milwaukee Bucks guard and member of the franchise’s 2021 NBA championship team was arrested on Tuesday morning on a series of charges that could lead to him spending time behind bars.
According to NBC News 4 in San Antonio, Bryn Forbes was arrested on a 3rd-degree felony charge of assault strangulation/choking of a family member after a warrant was issued for his arrest yesterday.
Court documents state that Forbes allegedly punched and choked his ex-wife when he showed up at her San Antonio, Texas apartment early Monday morning. The woman stated that she was having hard breathing during the incident and alleged that Forbes told her “If you can speak then you are not being choked.”
The complaint did not provide details as to what exactly prompted Forbes to allegedly attack her and his bond has been set at $7500, according to records. If found guilty, Forbes could face 2 to 10 years in prison under Texas law.
This is not Forbes’s first time being accused of family violence after he was also arrested last February for allegedly leaving his former fiancée, pornstar Elsa Jean with bruises and with two black eyes. A source close to Jean told the Daily Mail that “He (Forbes) hit her so many times and it was so terrifying for her.”
Those charges were later dismissed after Forbes completed a pre-trial diversion last summer which usually converts criminal charges into community service and a fine with charges being dropped once the diversion requirements or period is completed.
