MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – As pitchers and catchers report to Arizona this week, a notable MLB insider is reporting that two of the Brewers’ biggest stars will be staying in Milwaukee for this upcoming season.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, “The Brewers are unpredictable, but for now they are not shopping star closer Devin Williams or shortstop Willy Adames, who are both free agents after the year.”
In 2020, Williams won NL Rookie of the Year and NL Reliever of the Year, solidifying his position as one of the best bullpen pitchers in the game with a 0.33 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 27.0 innings pitched. For the second time in his career, Williams was voted NL Reliever of the Year, and he was selected for his second consecutive All-Star Game in 2023.
Adames has been with the Brewers since 2021, and last season, he played in a team-high 149 games and led Milwaukee in hitting with 24 home runs and 80 RBI.
