WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) – After spending three hours on the witness stand on Thursday, addressing a barrage of questions over her affair with former President Donald Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade, district attorney Fani Willis has decided not to testify again on Friday.
The Fulton County DA was scheduled to resume testimony at nine on Friday morning, according to the New York Post. However, attorneys from her office told Judge Scott McAfee that they would not be asking the senior prosecutor any more questions after Willis told the court on Thursday that she paid Wade back for lavish vacations they took together to Aruba, Belize, and Miami in cash.
When the prosecution pressed Willis on how she would get the cash to pay Wade, she stated “I have money in my house” and that she was taught to “have at least six months in cash at your house at all times.”
Robin Yearti, a former close friend and coworker of Willis, testified on Thursday that their relationship started in 2019 not long after the conference instead of 2022 as Willis claimed in court. Yearti further noted that she saw Willis and Wade “hugging” and “kissing” on multiple occasions over the years.
In her testimony, Willis also stated that she first met Wade in October 2019 at a conference, and the two started dating in the spring of 2022. She also claimed that in the summer of 2023, the relationship mutually ended. However, it was on November 1, 2021, that Wade was appointed special prosecutor in the probe against Trump and associates.
