MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The latest AP college basketball poll is out, and the Wisconsin Badgers and Marquette Golden Eagles both dropped in the rankings after suffering weekend losses.
According to the AP, the Badgers are now out of the top 25 after dropping five out of their last six games and most recently losing to Iowa in overtime on Saturday 88-86. Wisconsin was led by big man Steven Crowl on Saturday, who scored 22 points and shot 5-8 from the field. A.J. Storr’s recent struggles have continued despite scoring 21 points against Iowa. He shot just 8-18 from the field but did see an improvement from three, where he shot 3-6.
The Marquette Golden Eagles dropped three spots from four to seven following their 81-53 loss to number-one-ranked UConn on the road. That loss snapped their 8-game win streak and moved them 3.5 games behind UConn in the Big East standings. The Golden Eagles will hope for a better game this week from guard Tyler Kolek, who struggled to find his shot against UConn, scoring only 7 points on 2-11 shooting.
The Golden Eagles will look to rebound on Wednesday night as they face the DePaul Blue Devils at home, while the Badgers hope to get back on track at home as well, vs. Maryland on Tuesday night. Tip-off from Madison can be heard on WSAU at 8 p.m., with pregame starting at 7 p.m. CST.
