MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing back a familiar face to their pitching rotation.
According to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, the Brewers are re-signing former ace Brandon Woodruff to a two-year deal, though the financial details are still being worked out.
Woodruff struggled with shoulder problems all of 2023 and ended up needing surgery in October, which has put his 2024 season in doubt. Milwaukee did attempt to trade Woodruff before releasing him last fall after not receiving any reported offers.
The Brewers starting rotation is currently in flux, as Freddy Peralta is the team’s projected opening-day starter and Wade Miley, Jakob Junis, Colin Rea, and newly acquired prospect D.L. Hall are expected to round out the rotation.
