STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 24-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Stevens Point and transported to a Wausau hospital Wednesday morning.
Stevens Point Police said that the woman had a “serious injury” and that the driver of the vehicle that hit the woman was a 21-year-old man. Police stated no citations have been issued at this time, but the crash is still being investigated.
The person was struck as the vehicle traveled east on Fourth Avenue, coming around the minor curve at UWSP’s Chemistry Biology building, where Fourth Ave. becomes Fremont St. The report notes that the individual was crossing Fourth/Fremont in the crosswalk, heading west from Fourth.
