WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A rear-end crash near Wisconsin Rapids injured two people on Thursday afternoon.
Officers say the lead vehicle was struck by the following vehicle, causing the lead vehicle to cross the center line and roll into the ditch.
The driver of that vehicle had to be extracted and was airlifted to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. An update on their condition has not been given.
The second driver was not injured. Officers say distracted driving was a factor in the incident.
A total of seven agencies responded to the incident including the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and Rescue, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Vesper Fire Department.
