GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – As the Packers prepare to attend the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, one of the team’s top stars has agreed to restructure his contract to help the team possibly compete in free agency.
The Packers saved $4.781 million in salary space for the 2024 season by revising pass rusher Rashan Gary’s contract, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Gary had just signed a four-year, $96 million contract last season, but with a roster bonus of $6.2 million for the 2024 season, the Packers had some money to work with when it came to restructuring.
According to Packers Wire, Gary was originally scheduled to account for $15.92 million against the team’s 2024 salary cap, while his 2025 cap hit before this restructuring at $23.92 million, $26.42 million in 2026, and $29.42 million in 2027, the final year of his contract.
