GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Wisconsin state senator Andre Jacque has announced that he will indeed be running for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, seeking to replace Rep. Mike Gallagher.
According to a post on X, Jacque is “excited to launch my campaign to fight for the people of Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District… I’m proud of my record of delivering conservative wins and fighting back against liberal policies that would harm our state.”
Jacque has served in the state senate since 2019, and his campaign highlighted his support and desire to bring Wisconsin bills and laws that crack down on violent crime and sex trafficking, protect parents’ rights, rein in government, and expand school choice to Washington, D.C.
Jacque stated that he hasn’t decided whether he will retain his state Senate seat in the 1st senatorial district and will only focus on this congressional campaign in the coming months.
Former state senator Roger Roth and Alex Brusewitz, a GOP adviser for Trump’s campaign who has also shown a keen interest in local campaign events, are among the other candidates on the Republican ticket for the seat thus far, and the filing deadline to enter the race has been set for June 1st.
