T'Eliq Whitelow
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man suspected of breaking into a Wausau home and then beating the occupants with a handgun has been granted a lower bond.
T’Eliq Whitelow is now being held on a $50,000 cash bond, down from an initial amount of $100,000 which was set back in January. Court records show Judge Suzanne O’Neill granted that request despite objection from the state.
Should Whitelow post the case he would have a full no-contact order with the victims in the case and must maintain absolute sobriety. Court records show he has yet to post the cash as of Monday afternoon.
The 19-year-old is accused of breaking into an east-side home by climbing in through a basement window. When the occupant went to the kitchen to check on what was happening, he was confronted by the intruders and beaten with a handgun.
The man’s nephew was also injured and threatened in the incident. Whitelow was immediately named as a suspect but remained on the loose until late December when he was taken into custody in Milwaukee County.
He pled not guilty to the charges in late February. Further court action is scheduled for March 19th. He faces up to 55 years in prison if found guilty at trial.
