TOWN OF DEXTER, WI (WSAU) — Two people were injured in what’s been described as a traffic crash between two individuals who knew each other, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release on Tuesday, officers said the incident was reported on Friday, March 1st at about 11:15 PM. The initial call took officers to the Town of Dexter where they found an injured 85-year-old man, who was taken to Marshfield Medical Center by ambulance.
Information gathered at that scene led them to Pittsville where they found an injured 69-year-old woman. She was also transported to Marshfield Medical Center by a private vehicle.
The man remains hospitalized and is in intensive care. The woman was scheduled to be released on Tuesday. The nature of their injuries was not disclosed.
The investigation continued into Saturday, March 2nd when officers processed a damaged vehicle at an undisclosed location. It’s unclear what additional evidence is being processed, or what led up to the incident. Officers say this was an isolated incident between the two people and there is no danger to the public.
Further details will be released when the investigation is closed.
