MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — The vice-president promotes apprenticeships at a Madison visit.
Kamala Harris was with apprentices at a construction site for Madison Metro.
“The work that is happening here really is a wonderful example of so many of our administration’s priorities, including the important collaboration between us at the federal level and leaders at the local level like the mayor of Madison,” said Harris.
Harris also discussed an executive order issued by President Biden that will direct federal agencies to explore what federal jobs can be filled by highly skilled people who have been trained in apprenticeship programs.
The visit is the latest by administration officials in the critical state for Joe Biden’s re-election.
