WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Nissan Motor said Wednesday its electric Leaf has regained eligibility for a $3,750 U.S. tax credit months after new government battery sourcing restrictions took effect.
The U.S. Treasury issued guidelines in December aimed at weaning the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain away from China that took effect Jan. 1, with the number of EV models qualifying for U.S. EV tax credits falling from 43 to 19.
