GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Packers All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtari announced on Monday morning that the Green Bay Packers and him have officially parted ways after 11 seasons.
According to a post on X, Bakhtari spoke about the release, saying, “A lot of emotion in this. I just want to say THANK YOU, Green Bay. Thank you for the last 11 years. It’s been a hell of a run. I always wanted to raise a Lombardi on Lombardi Avenue, but I will never complain. I gave it my all.”

Bakhtiari was selected by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft and earned five All-Pro selections and three Pro Bowl appearances during his time with the franchise.
The decision to cut Bakhtari will create nearly $21 million in cap space for the Packers on top of the roughly $10 million they’ll save due to their decision to also cut linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, giving them more room to compete financially for veteran safeties like Xavier McKinney, Rayshawn Jenkins, and Justin Simmons.
