GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Packers legend and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be in line for a career change following this upcoming NFL season.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reportedly approached former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura, as well as NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, about running alongside him on an independent presidential ticket, according to the New York Times.
People familiar with the discussions confirmed with the New York Times on Tuesday that the two men are indeed at the top of his list, but it remains unclear if anyone has formally been offered the job.
Kennedy stated that he had been in contact with Mr. Ventura ever since the former governor introduced him at a campaign event in Arizona last month and that he had been chatting with Mr. Rodgers “pretty continuously” over the past month and is expected to name his VP choice in the coming weeks, ahead of deadlines in several states that require him to have a VP pick to petition for ballot access.
A spokesperson for Mr. Rodgers did not immediately reply to the Times request for comment, and Mr. Ventura was not immediately available for comment either.
