MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Aspirus Health has announced a $40 million expansion of their hospital in Merrill.
Aspirus SVP & Central Region President Jeff Wicklander says they are seeing growth in the Merrill area, so it’s time for the hospital to follow suit.
The expansion will double the hospital’s capacity from 10 patient beds to 20. Other upgrades include:
- Complete reconstruction of inpatient rooms
- Enhancements to imaging, rehabilitation, laboratory, and pharmacy services
- Updates to the main floor, stairwells, and offices
Wicklander says the expansion will begin this summer and could take up to three years to complete.
“This investment is a clear indication of our commitment to leveraging resources for the greatest possible impact,” Wicklander said. “We are excited to improve and expand care locally while providing a boost to the local economy.”
He adds that Aspirus is proud to be adding service at a time when other hospitals have either scaled back service or, in some areas, closed. “Aspirus has thrived, which is a testament to strategic foresight, thoughtful decision-making, and a relentless commitment to efficiency and effectiveness.”
