WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Voters in Wausau will have one more day of in-person, absentee voting at City Hall before next Tuesday’s Mayoral and Alder election.
City Clerk Kaitlyn Bernarde says voting will happen on Saturday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM for those who can’t make it to the polls on April 2nd.
Additionally, the polls at City Hall are open until 4:30 PM today, Good Friday, though other business at City Hall is closed in observance of the holiday.
Voters in Wausau are choosing between incumbent Mayor Katie Rosenberg and current District 4 alder Doug Diny for a four-year term as Mayor. All 11 Alder positions are also up for election, though some of those races are uncontested. There is also an election for Municipal Court Judge, which is also uncontested.
The remainder of the ballot includes the partisan primary for President, the Marathon County Supervisor election, and two state-wide referendum questions regarding election administration.
Bernarde says nearly 12% of registered voters have already returned their ballots in Wausau including more than 670 people who have voted in person. Those who have filled out their ballots but haven’t returned them are encouraged to return them to City Hall during the following hours:
Friday: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM -12:00 PM
Monday: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Tuesday: 7:00 AM-8:00 PM (at City Hall ONLY –not their poll site)
Voters can only return their absentee ballot to City Hall. Ballots for others will not be accepted unless they are accompanying you to make the drop-off.
