
Marquette Golden Eagles
DALLAS, TX (WSAU) — After holding off upset-minded Colorado in the Second Round, Marquette fell to #11 seed North Carolina State in the Men’s Sweet Sixteen on Friday 67-58.
Kam Jones led the Golden Eagles with 21 points. Tyler Kolek added 17 points and ten rebounds.
NC State shot 46% from the field including 9/23 (39%) from three-point land. Marquette went 33% from the field and just 4/31 (13%) from downtown.
NC State advances to play Duke in the Elite Eight on Sunday. Marquette’s season finishes with a record of 27-10.
The game marked just the second all-time meeting between the Wolfpack and the Golden Eagles. Both contests have come in the NCAA tournament and NCSU won both.
