Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE WI, (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers suffered their first loss of the 2024 season on Wednesday, falling to the Minnesota Twins 7-3.
Off-season signing Joe Ross made the start for Milwaukee today and gave up no earned runs and just two hits in three innings pitched. However, the bullpen struggled when reliever Joel Payamps failed to last an inning after he gave up four earned runs on four hits, bringing his ERA over 10 for the young season.
Milwaukee’s offense also struggled to find a rhythm, with top prospect Jackson Chourio going one for four on the day, with his lone hit being his first career big league home run, and off-season signing Rhys Hoskins hitting his first home run as Brewer as well, but also going just one for three on the day.
The Brewers will look to get back on track on Friday night when they host the Seattle Mariners. Freddy Peralta will get the start for Milwaukee, while Logan Gilbert will take the mound for Seattle. Pregame begins at 6:40 p.m. on WSAU, with the first pitch at 7:10 p.m.
