GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The 2024 NFL draft is only 17 days away, and the Green Bay Packers have ramped up their official and pro-day visits for players they’re eyeing to select. Here is WSAU’s first mock draft of the season.
Round 1 pick 25: Iowa CB/S Cooper DeJean. DeJean is a former three-star recruit from Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School and was a consensus All-American as well as a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Jim Thorpe Award in 2023 after recording 30 tackles, 3 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions. He ran an impressive 4.43 40-yard dash at Iowa’s Pro Day on Monday, and Green Bay needs an athletic defensive back who can play alongside Jaire Alexander and help cover tight ends and slot receivers for years to come.
Idc if Cooper DeJean projects as a safety, I'd still draft him at 25.

Round 2 pick 41: BYU offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia. Suamataia could be one of the best offensive tackles of the 2024 draft class and is coming off a strong 2023 season after giving up just two sacks and six quarterback hits. With the Packers losing three starters on the offensive line during free agency, they need a long-term blindside protector for Jordan Love, and at 6-5, 326 LBS, Suamataia would fit that bill very well.

Round 2 pick 58: Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. Cooper is considered one of the top linebackers in the 2024 class following his senior season with the Aggies, where he totaled 58 tackles and 10 sacks, which earned him AP All-American and First Team All-SEC honors in 2023. After moving on from former All-Pro linebacker De’Vondre Campbell this off-season, Cooper could step into the starting lineup in Week 1 to play alongside Quay Walker, making the Packers linebacker core one of the most athletic in the league.
Watching some XL tonight and couldn’t help but notice A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper (#45)

Round 3 pick 88: Miami safety Kamren Kinchens. The Packers made a splash in free agency by signing former New York Giants star safety Xavier McKinney to a long-term deal, but the team could still use an athletic player who can stop the run and help cover the middle of the field, and Kinchens would be a solid option for Green Bay late in the third round. Kinchens does come with some concerns, such as speed, as he only had a 4.65 40-yard dash at the combine and struggled in pass protection, giving up a 115.9 passer rating when targeted last season, but the Packers may take him based on the possibility that he grows into the position.
Round 3 pick 91: Kansas State guard Cooper Beebe. Green Bay lost veteran Jon Runyan Jr. in free agency and could use a new long-term replacement, and Beebe would fit that role well after a dominant 2023 season with the Wildcats giving up no hits on the quarterback and just one sack.
