MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Marquette Golden Eagles and their fans will be saying goodbye to one of their program’s biggest stars as guard Tyler Kolek announced on Wednesday that he will be entering the 2024 NBA Draft.
In a post on his Instagram account, Kolek thanked the fans and school for the opportunity to play for them, saying, “While I may be moving on to the next chapter of my basketball career, I will always cherish the memories and lessons from my time in Milwaukee and take pride in representing this special basketball program at the highest level moving forward.”
Kolek had a strong 2024 season, averaging 15.3 points per game and 7.7 assists, leading the Golden Eagles to the Sweet Sixteen before being eliminated by the eventual Final Four-bound North Carolina State Wolfpack.
He will headline a Marquette draft class that is expected to have three players selected this summer, including guard Kam Jones and forward Oso Ighodaro. At this time, most NBA mock drafts project Kolek will be selected somewhere between picks 25 and 40, with the hometown Milwaukee Bucks currently holding two picks in that range, with the 24th overall pick and the 35th overall pick in their possession.
