WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marathon County judge has scheduled a three-day jury trial for a Wausau man accused of breaking into an east-side home in June of 2023 and beating the occupants.
T’Eliq Whitelow is accused of breaking into the home through a basement window and then threatening a man with a gun. Officers say he also pistol-whipped the man and beat his nephew as well.
The 19-year-old was immediately named as a suspect in the incident. But he remained at large for nearly six months before he was arrested in Milwaukee in mid-December.
The three-day trial is scheduled to run from July 10th through the 12th. Whitelow faces up to 30 years in prison and $100,000 in fines if found guilty.
Charges against him carry party to a crime modifiers. A second suspect was also involved, though that person was not named.
Both the man and his nephew were injured in the incident.
Whitelow returns to court for a motion hearing on June 24th.
