MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks injury woes are continuing this week as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are continuing to rehab from recent injuries.
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported on Tuesday that there was “doubt” about Antetokounmpo’s ability to recover from his calf strain and the same was true for Bucks point guard Damian Lillard, who is battling an Achilles strain.
However, ESPN’s Sean Wright reported on Tuesday afternoon that Antetokounmpo plans to warm up with the team before Game 5 and attempt to play if all goes well. After sustaining the calf injury on April 9 against the Boston Celtics, Antetokounmpo was unable to play in the final three games of the regular season or the first four games of the Pacers series.
Other Bucks players dealing with injuries include Khris Middleton, who has been playing with a sprained ankle, and Patrick Beverley, who suffered a sprained wrist earlier this month. Milwaukee will need to rely on both Middleton and Beverley to help reassure their backcourt, along with young players such as Andre Jackson Jr., who has come on in recent games on the defensive side of the ball, and A.J. Green, who has shown his ability to hit back shots when needed.
