WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A now former behind-the-scenes worker in the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office entered a not guilty plea for a felony count of false imprisonment on Wednesday.
Michael Evon is accused of making advances towards a female supervisor at another job, then refusing to let her leave the office until she kissed him. Police say he did eventually let her out.
The 45-year-old is also accused of sending her an expletive-filled message after resigning as a loss prevention specialist. Officials add that Evon was also accused of making inappropriate comments to other female employees, some of them teenagers.
Evon worked in the Sheriff’s Department as a communications division technology specialist. He was put on unpaid leave after the charges came to light. Officers also opened an internal investigation into his behavior, which ultimately led to his termination according to a statement provided by Public Information Coordinator Sara Severson.
