MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Christian Yelich had a monster day at the plate as Milwaukee plated eight runs after the 6th inning in a 12-5 thumping of the Chicago White Sox on Friday.
Yelich recorded five hits and five RBI. That included a two-RBI single in the 4th that gave Milwaukee a 4-3 lead. He also smashed a two-RBI double in the 7th.
Brice Turang and William Contreras both finished 3-5 with one RBI. Sal Frelick was 3-4 with three runs scored and one RBI.
Despite the flashy run (12) and hit (23) output, Milwaukee did not record a home run in the game.
Starting Pitcher Jake Meyers didn’t factor in the decision, throwing 4.1 innings and allowing seven hits and five earned runs. Enoli Paredes picked up the win in the 7th, recording one strikeout and no baserunners.
