WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Mosinee man accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase through Mosinee and into Wausau is jailed on a six-figure cash bond.
Justin Phillips is accused of failing to yield for an officer early Wednesday morning in the Town of Mosinee, then taking off through the city to Interstate 39/US 51 northbound.
Officers deployed spike strips to slow him down, then performed a PIT maneuver to terminate the chase near the Stewart Avenue exit.
Phillips was treated for minor injuries before being transported to the Marathon County Jail. An officer was also injured during the incident but was treated and released back to work.

Police determined the vehicle involved was reported stolen from the Village of Plover.
He’s facing seven felony counts including fleeing an officer, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, possession of an electronic weapon and burglar’s tools, and bail jumping. During a court appearance Friday Judge LaMont Jacobson set his bond at $100,000 cash. Should he post, he would have several no-contact orders against victims and businesses including Fleet Farm, People’s State Bank, AmericInn, and gambling machines.
Court records show 18 additional open cases and civil forfeitures (fines) against Phillips have been cross-referenced with the new charges. Those include several cases of retail theft and theft of movable property valued at $2,500 or more and felony forgery. His bond covers all of those cases.
Further court action is scheduled for June 17th and July 9th.
