MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – With the 2024 MLB All-Star game less than a month away, the Milwaukee Brewers have the potential to have up to five players in the game if fans keep showing up to vote.
According to a post on X from the team, catcher Williams Contreras currently leads all NL catchers in voting, and outfielder Christian Yelich is 2nd in voting among NL outfielders, but there are a few more players who still need help from the fans, such as third baseman Joey Ortiz, shortstop Willy Adames, and second baseman Brice Turang.
Yelich is trailing top vote-getter Jurickson Profar by a little over 79,000 votes, while Ortiz, who was acquired by the Brewers from Baltimore this past off-season, is ranked third among NL third basemen in voting so far at 244,957, which is only roughly 23,000 votes behind San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado, who currently sits at 267,063 votes. Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm leads voting among NL third basemen by a wide margin, at over a million votes.
As for Willy Adames, he trails former Brewers shortstop Orlando Arcia by less than 10,000 votes for fourth in NL shortstop voting, and with Dodgers shortstop and top vote-getter Mookie Betts moving to the IL due to a left hand/wrist injury, there is a chance Adames could move into position to play in the game with enough help from the fans.
Fans can vote over the next two weeks for their favorite Brewers to play in Arlington, Texas with the link provided.
